About Our Privacy Policy

We are responsible for ensuring that your personal data is used in accordance with data protection laws. Personal data refers to information that, alone or in combination with other information, can be used to identify you.

The user is any individual who provides us with personal information during registration and while using the Chat&Yamo app. This page is intended to inform you about the collection and use of personal data on the Chat&Yamo app, available on the Google Play Store and Apple Store for Android and iOS users.

This page also informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our services and the choices associated with this data.

By downloading, installing, accessing, and/or using the Chat&Yamo app and accepting our privacy policy, you consent to the use of your personal data for the purposes outlined in this privacy policy.

If you wish to withdraw your consent or want us to stop using your personal data for any reason, you can delete your account, and your profile will no longer be visible to other users.

To delete your account, go to the Chat&Yamo settings and click on “delete account”; your account will be permanently deleted. Notwithstanding the above, you may continue to receive notifications from us.

To stop receiving notifications, you should uninstall the Chat&Yamo app. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact us using the details below.

Personal Data We Collect About You

We collect and process the following personal data about you, including the information you provide to us when you register and use the Chat&Yamo app, such as:

  • Username
  • Mobile number
  • Country of origin
  • City of residence
  • Religion
  • Occupation
  • Number of children
  • Marital status
  • Level of education
  • Facebook email address
  • Age
  • Gender identity
  • Sexual preferences
  • Your profile picture and any other information you include in your profile
  • Your connections and contacts, including Chat&Yamo users and other contacts from your mobile device that you make available to us
  • Your photos, videos, and other files on your phone when you upload them to the Chat&Yamo app
  • Any information you provide when contacting us for customer support or other inquiries.

How You Provide Us with Data

You choose to share certain information with us when you use our services, including:

  1. When You Create an Account: You provide us with at least your phone number and email address, as well as some basic details necessary for the service to function, such as your gender and date of birth.
  2. When You Complete Your Profile: You may share additional information with us. To add certain content, such as photos, you may allow us to access your camera or photo album.
  3. When You Subscribe to a Paid Service: You provide information to our payment service provider, such as your mobile money account number, debit or credit card number, or other financial information.
  4. When You Choose to Participate in Our Promotions or Events: We collect the information you use to register or participate.
  5. When You Contact Our Customer Support Team: We collect the information you provide during the interaction.

Your Connections and Contacts

Chat&Yamo will request permission to access your connections and contacts, including both Chat&Yamo users and other contacts from your mobile device that you make available to us. We ask for permission to access your contacts to provide the contact-blocking feature, which allows you to avoid seeing or being seen by user profiles from your mobile phone’s contact list.

Information We Obtain from Other Sources

Facebook

To register on Chat&Yamo, you may be asked to log in using your Facebook credentials. If you choose to do so, you authorize us to access and process certain information related to your Facebook account, including information about you and your Facebook friends who may also be mutual friends with other Chat&Yamo users. By granting us access to your Facebook account, you understand that we may obtain and process certain information from your Facebook account, including your name, email address, date of birth, work history, educational background, current city, photos stored on Facebook, as well as the names, profile photos, relationship status, and information about your Facebook friends. We only obtain information from your Facebook account that you specifically authorize and allow us to access.

Third-Party Services

We may receive the information described in this privacy policy from third-party services, such as analytics providers and advertising partners.

Other Users

Chat&Yamo users may provide us with information about you, particularly in the context of customer support requests.

How We Use Your Personal Data

The primary reason we use your data is to provide and improve our services:

  • Create your account to use the Chat&Yamo app and enable you to continue using it.
  • Inform you about relevant ads, offers, and love quotes that might interest you.
  • Allow other Chat&Yamo app users to contact you.
  • Establish and verify your identity on the Chat&Yamo app.
  • Recommend you to other users.

While we want as many people as possible to enjoy the Chat&Yamo app, you must be of legal age in your country to use the Chat&Yamo app.

If we learn that a child or minor has registered on our site and provided us with personal information, we will take the necessary steps to terminate that person’s registration.
